Hoofy — Farrier business management

Hoofy (“we”, “us”), created by Chase Paris, is a farrier business management app. This policy covers the app and, in the separate website section below, hoofyapp.com.
Data stored on your device
Hoofy stores your working business data locally on your device (clients, horses, appointments, invoices, mileage, settings, and similar). We do not operate a Hoofy server that stores your business records. Optional backups, calendar integration, and exports can send records to services you select, as described below.
Contacts
If you choose to import from Contacts, Hoofy reads the contact details you authorize to help you add client records. Those records are stored locally and can be included in exports, sharing, optional enabled backups, or calendar entries, as described below. Review these settings before including someone else’s information.
Camera and Photos
If you add photos, Hoofy uses the camera or photo library only as you allow, for your own records.
Location
If you allow location access, Hoofy uses location for the address, mapping, and mileage features you choose. Address lookup and map services may communicate with Apple. You can manage location permission in iOS Settings. The weather feature described below can use coordinates derived from an address you enter, independently of permission to read your device’s location. Hoofy does not sell your location.
Weather (Apple WeatherKit)
Hoofy uses Apple WeatherKit for schedule weather. The saved home or business address you enter is geocoded using Apple’s location services. The resulting latitude and longitude are supplied to WeatherKit to request current conditions and hourly and daily forecasts. These coordinates are not deliberately rounded to an approximate location by Hoofy.
The weather request does not include your client list, horse records, invoices, or appointment details. Hoofy caches the forecast, its location, and its update time on your device so previously retrieved weather can remain available offline; a fresh forecast requires internet access. Payments and subscriptions
Subscriptions are processed by Apple via In-App Purchase. We do not receive your full payment card number. Apple may provide us subscription status as needed to unlock features.
Notifications
If you enable reminders, Hoofy uses the notification permission and controls provided by iOS. You can turn notifications off in iOS Settings.
Backups and exports
If you enable iCloud backup or the optional iCloud sync-file feature, Hoofy writes a copy of your backup data to your iCloud Drive. This may include the business records and settings contained in the backup. Apple handles storage and synchronization through your iCloud account. A local write confirmation is not proof that an upload has finished; check backup availability before relying on it for recovery.
Manual backup, export, and sharing features send data where you choose, such as Mail, Files, or iCloud Drive, not to a Hoofy business-record server. If you enable calendar integration, appointment details are added to your selected calendar and may synchronize through that calendar account. Review the destination and its privacy settings before sharing client information. You can manage the optional backup, sync-file, and calendar settings in the app.
Children’s privacy
Hoofy is not directed at children under 13. Do not use Hoofy to collect personal information from children in violation of applicable law.
Information handled by this website
Hosting and analytics. This website is hosted on Netlify. Requests to the website necessarily provide technical information such as an IP address and the requested resource to the host. The website also uses Google Analytics 4 to understand visits and page use. Google Analytics may use cookies or similar identifiers and receive technical information about your browser, device, and visit. Our explicit page-view configuration removes URL query strings and fragments; this is not a claim that visits are anonymous or that Google receives no other technical information. See Netlify’s Privacy Statement and Google Analytics’ privacy information. Browser privacy controls and content blockers can restrict analytics.
Forms and correspondence. If you submit a contact, directory, website, or referral form, the fields you choose to provide may be handled by FormSubmit and delivered to our email inbox. Emailing us also shares your email address and message with us and the email providers involved. Do not include payment-card details, confidential client records, or health information in website forms. See FormSubmit’s privacy policy.
Directory listings. The farrier directory displays business contact details publicly. A listing submission is a request for review, not a promise of publication or verified credentials. To request a correction or removal, email the page URL and listing name to hooftrimmin@icloud.com. We may ask for information needed to confirm the request. Browser storage is also used for certain form or tool preferences; generated invoice and mileage documents are prepared in your browser unless you choose to send or save them elsewhere.
The website’s analytics and form services are separate from the app’s local business-record storage. Opening an external link or sharing a document makes the receiving service’s policies relevant.
